đŸ‡ș🇾 | How is Donald Trump garnering record numbers of Black voters?

In spite of his awful record of derogatory comments against Black people and his negative fame of being a white supremacist, Trump is managing to gain a record number of Black American supporters.

According to GenForward, 17% of Black Americans would vote for Trump if the election was held today. In some states, this figure reaches 20%. In 2016, when Trump was elected, only 6% of Black Americans voted for him.

Black people in the US steadfastly supported the Democratic Party, as a result of the party’s attachment to the civil rights movement. Nevertheless, the support for the Democrats amongst Black voters is experiencing a downward trend, from 77% in 2020 to 63% now.

Many black people are feeling overlooked by the Democrats in subjects such as housing and employment. Furthermore, there are Black young people who weren’t born during the Civil Rights movement, and therefore don’t feel the same connection to it compared to elderly Black voters. #feedinter
